Chefs Garden a Rare Miami Eatery Experience
An inviting botanical wonderland filled with an extraordinary collection of herbs, vegetables and fruit trees resides at Turnberry Isle in a prime location that’s easily accessible for guests to explore. This sanctuary of sorts is nurtured by our chefs, whose passion for cooking with the freshest and most interesting regional ingredients fueled inspiration for this innovative project. On any given day, chefs can be seen leading complimentary tours, hosting garden-side soirees, conducting cooking demos and selecting a bundle of ingredients to use in inventive dishes and drinks featured on the Cascata Grille menu and around the resort. A compost tumbler was added to the garden to help fortify the soil and make the plants even healthier.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll find in the chef’s garden, but pay a visit and you’ll discover much more: Pineapple sage, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, five varieties of mint, basil, tarragon, chives, Italian flat leaf parsley, cilantro, lemongrass, fennel, dill, two varieties of sugar cane, pigeon peas, zucchini, three varieties of bananas including plantains, tamarind, sugar apples, miracle fruit, star fruit, dragon fruit, lychee, longan, loquat, kumquats, five varieties of mangos, guava, strawberry-guavas, Florida and Haas avocados, Persian and key limes, pomegranate, papaya, Barbados cherries, naval oranges, pomelo, sapodilla, tomatoes, Swiss chard, eggplant, a variety of peppers, jaboticaba fruit and sugar bay rum.
